Monte Vista Unitarian Universalist Congregation (formerly the First Unitarian Society of Pomona Valley) has been a beacon of liberal religious life in the Pomona Valley since 1888. We are located just east of Los Angeles. We are a progressive community that encourages and supports individual spiritual quests while we work together for social justice.  We cherish the diversity of age, ability, belief, race, ethnicity, country of origin, language, economic status, education, political perspective, gender, sexual orientation or family structure.

We are Freethinker Friendly: we provide a welcoming community for people with atheist, agnostic, humanist , and other non-theistic world views.

We hope you will find a spiritual home with us.

MVUUC has a New Minister – the Rev. Pratima Dharm!

It’s official! We are proud to announce that Reverend Pratima Dharm has been installed as our new settled minister at our beloved Monte Vista Unitarian Universalist Congregation! It was a beautiful celebration and we wish to thank everyone who attended and volunteered to share in what we experience as “Joy in Community” at Monte Vista UU

We will celebrate Easter as well as Earth Day at Monte Vista on the 21st of April, where Rev. Pratima Dharm will speak on global warming and its far reaching effects on our planet. The drastic changes in the climate for the worse is calling us to take more intentional care of mother earth as ‘Sacred’, especially to save the loss or extinction of various species and our environment as a whole to ensure a better future for our children.

Throughout the year, we sing many hymns, some of which may have special meaning to you. Other hymns are just plain fun to sing. This Sunday, you get the chance to revisit your favorite songs as we take a famous bit of advice and "play it again"!
