  BUUk GrUUp will meet in the Founder's Room from 10:00-11:30am to discuss The Boys in the Boat by Daniel Brown. This is a riveting account of the University of Washington's 1936 varsity rowing crew and its rise from obscurity to fame. It culminates in their winning a gold medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The book offers a fascinating picture of the socioeconomic landscape of America during the depression as well as a portrait of all that is demanded of an Olympic-level rower.
