Social Justice
Our social justice work at MVUUC includes a monthly letter writing table and a twice monthly discussion group after services. Two or three times a month the Adult Forum meets before church for lively discussions about current issues. Other justice work occurs throughout the year, including speakers, films, and various actions.
We have a second Sunday “Share the Plate” collection for worthy groups. Some of these have been:
- The Prison Library Project
- Project Sister
- The Children’s Advocacy Center
- Foothill AIDS Project
- Claremont Homeless Advocacy Program
- National Association for the Mentally Ill
- Crossroads
- Inland Valley Hope Partners
- Habitat for Humanity
- Death Penalty Focus
- No More Deaths
A monthly newsletter with social justice information, articles, and calendar is available via email. Contact Margaret Davis to be added to the subscribers.
