Sunday Service begins every Sunday at 10:30am in the sanctuary.

Pratima Dharm will speak on how to set our ‘Intention’ in the New Year (2019) to facilitate a life that is built truly upon ‘all’ who we are and our dreams on 13th of January.

    We will celebrate Martin Luther King Day and his inspiring voice, vision and life that called our country to live by its noblest principles on 20th January.  Rev. Dharm will lead the service and speak on the significance of continuing our struggle or fight for keeping Dr. King’s dream of creating a vibrant, multiracial, multifaith and multicultural nation alive and building the beloved community.

Surprisingly, science fiction and fantasy literature and film are often a rich source of inspiration, which raises questions of what is a “real religion,” spirituality and imagination, and inspiration as a religious and artistic phenomenon.

    Life presents so many challenges that it is very difficult to be kind to all. And yet as Unitarian Universalists, we are called to live and to practice the principle of ‘justice, equity, and compassion in human relations.’ Rev. Dharm will speak on how to face evil with kindness on 10th February even with those who do not seem to merit much kindness.

Rev. Dharm will speak on this topic in the wake of the global movement for women's rights, equality and justice on 10th March.

Dharm will explore this topic as we celebrate the spirit of Saint Patrick’s Day at Monte Vista on 17th March. We also encourage you to bring Irish Soda Bread to share with others after service.

    We will celebrate the Hindu festival of Holi or Colors at Monte Vista on 24th March with a special story, message and rituals on ‘Holi’ to share with the children and adults, helping us embrace our own unique colors that make up the fabric of our Beloved Monte Vista Community! Indian delicacies, Masala Chai or Tea along with a fun play of color, following the service, may bring the child out in you!

    Madeline Rios, MVUUC member, professional interpreter and longtime human rights activist, will share her experience with the Latin American immigrant experience and how it relates to the fight for democracy.  Madeline recently joined the board of the UU California Justice Ministry and will report on its recent retreat in Fresno.
