Covid-19 Update:

With both compassion and wisdom for the best care of our Congregation, and in response to directives from national healthcare centers and the UUA, the MVUUC Board and Rev Maggie announce that our Sunday Services, Religious Exploration, and all other gatherings are cancelled until further notice.

Our Minister RevMaggie, our Lay Leaders, and Music Director Lily Popova will be using technology to create ways we can stay closely connected and care for the Spirit of Life within us all during this time of uncertainty.

Brynda Jones, MVUUC Office Administrator will be in during regular hours and is available to respond to your calls, and forward your messages.

"Jiminy Cricket - Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide" - Rev. Lee Marie Sanchez

Our 5th Principle states, "We covenant to affirm and promote the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large."  Some may wonder why UU's have enshrined the value of Democracy as an important religious value. When seen in the context of all our beloved seven principles it will be clear why this is so.

    Everyone is welcome!
(Share the Zoom Connect and OOS to be sent out by email on Saturday)

BIO - Rev. Lee Marie Sanchez was born and raised in Long Beach, attending schools there all the way through college, at California State College at Long Beach. She learned about Unitarian Universalism at age 15 from a counselor at the Long Beach YMCA. Shortly after, she joined the UU Church of the Larger Fellowship and has been a Member ever since. It is hard for her to believe it has now been 57 years!  She moved to Washington State where she was the Director of Religious Education for a UU church with over 100 children. She also was a Hospital and Hospice Chaplain there for 2 large medical centers. Returning to California more than 15 years ago, to care for her mother, she finished seminary at our UU theological school, Meadville/Lombard in Chicago, in their Modified Residency Program. She has served 3 of our congregations here in Southern California, now as Minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach.

Rev. Lee Marie has preached in over 50 UU congregations and is excited to speak her first time for the Monte Vista Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

We look forward to meeting together in person
when the Covid-19 ‘Shelter at Home’ order has been lifted
and we no longer have to ask ourselves if it is safe to gather together.
We will know when it is time.
Until then, we connect by mail, phone, online technology,
and in our hearts…
